I had the honor and pleasure of being the thesis advisor to MK Czerwiec, the creator of Comic Nurse. After MK witnessed something I’ve had to suffer through multiple times at the hands of ancient surgeons, she ended up writing a cartoon about it. I was so delighted, not only because she validated my experience, but because she helped me understand it so much better.

By the way, in case your wondering, MK really does have a dog named Alice; she doesn’t just represent me as a dog, although her Alice and I do have a lot in common.
